The Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (CiiAT) and th Human Center proudly announce the continuation of the international program in clinical art therapy in Bangkok, the most colourful capital city of Thailand.

This clinical art therapy program is in compliance with the CATA educational standards and it is listed on the CATA website (http://canadianarttherapy.org/become-an-art-therapist/approved-art-therapy/schools). CiiAT is a registered Partnership in Canada, with three directors: Lucille Proulx, ATR, RCAT; Michelle Winkel, ATR, RCAT; Christine Lumis, ATR, RCAT, CATA member. CiiAT is bringing academic training in art therapy to Bangkok, Thailand and to Tokyo, Japan. This weekend program is intended to meet the needs of those who cannot find the time during the year to undertake a long term course, but would like to obtain professional qualifications in the field of art therapy through intensive theoretical and practical training. The core course instructors will be coming to teach from the CiiAT faculty in Canada. Mental Health Professionals, Counsellors, Social Workers and Artists may be interested in extending their skills to the healing arts field. Students who graduate from this program will receive a Post BA. Diploma or a Post MA. Certificate and be entitled “ Art Therapist ciiatD or ciiatC” after their name. This title will allow them to pursue a career as a professional Art Therapist internationally (regional conditions applicable).

The Diploma Program

A Post-Bachelor's Diploma in Art Therapy enables successful participants to practice art therapy within their own profession eg Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Teacher, Social Worker, Nurse. This course requires 30 units of course work plus 800 hours of practicum (with a minimum 450 client hours) and is now available as: 3 intensive 12 days -modules (Friday-Saturday-Sunday), 3 practicums, a thesis and 4 units of Electives.

The Certificate Program

A Post-Master's Certificate in Art Therapy for persons with a Master's or Doctoral degree in the Human Sciences. The program is designed in accordance with guidelines of the Canadian Art Therapy Association for training at this level. Applicants will be treated on an individual basis. Applicants who do not have clinical training or who do not possess a Master's degree in Human Science will be required to complete an additional practicum. This course requires 21 units of course work plus 650 hours of practicum (with a minimum 350 client hours) and is now available as:    3 intensive 12 days -modules (Friday-Saturday-Sunday), 2 practicums and 2.5 units of Electives.

This course is provided for a small number of students. Participating in this group would yield maximum benefit in learning experience. Early registration is recommended to guarantee your seat.
